Clinical leadership

Jeffrey Kentel, MTS, MA, RP

Chief Clinical Officer & Co-founder

EMDR Certified · More than 25 years of experience

Jeff leads the clinical development of FRC Canada, with a focus on respectful, evidence-informed care for people affected by trauma, operational stress and the demands of helping professions.

“You do not have to explain everything in the first session. We can begin with what matters to you and work together at a pace that respects your needs.”

Jeff Kentel, Registered Psychotherapist and Chief Clinical Officer

Meet Jeff and explore current appointment options. Your initial session is a chance to discuss your needs and consider whether working together feels like a good fit.

Care that understands your working world

Room for your story. Respect for your choices.

Confidentiality comes first

Your care is a private professional relationship. Your therapist will explain information sharing, consent and the limits of confidentiality before treatment.

Start with a conversation

Your initial session is a chance to meet your therapist and consider the fit. You choose what you feel ready to share; the approach, pace and frequency are discussed together.

Appointments around shift work

Your work does not follow a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule. We offer flexible appointment options beyond a conventional workday, subject to clinician availability.

We are establishing a First Responder Volunteer Advisory Council so clinicians can learn directly about the cultures and responsibilities of the helping professions. Volunteers will answer general questions about professional life—not discuss patients or access client information.

FRC Canada — Helping Those Who Help Others — Accepting New Clients

Accepting new clients

Your next step can start today.

We welcome enquiries from first responders, helping professionals and their families. Explore appointment availability through Jane, or speak with our administrative team about getting started.

Appointment availability, suitability and location eligibility are confirmed individually. Please keep email enquiries general and do not include medical records or detailed personal health information.

Serving those who serve

Different professions. Shared commitment.

We recognize the work, the person behind it and the family that carries part of it home.

Who we support

Care for the person behind the profession.

We welcome first responders, emergency communications and public safety personnel, healthcare and social-service professionals, military members, veterans, Canadian Coast Guard, search and rescue personnel, and their partners and families.

Frontline service, investigations, oversight and leadership can bring different pressures. Your therapist begins with your individual experience.

See who we support

How we can help

Care built around your needs.

Individual psychotherapy

Support for operational stress, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, loss and related concerns.

EMDR and trauma-focused care

Evidence-informed treatment, with preparation and pacing shaped to your needs and readiness.

Family support

Care for spouses, partners and family members living alongside the effects of service.

Virtual appointments

For some first responders, home is where they feel most secure and apart from the demands of work. Virtual care offers the option to connect from a familiar, private setting without travelling to an unfamiliar clinical environment. Your therapist will discuss whether the setting and virtual care are suitable for you.

Virtual care is available to eligible clients across Canada. Clinical suitability, appointment availability and your physical location are confirmed before treatment.
